Current Vacancies

Town Manager-Tryon, population 1,800, 40 minutes southeast of Asheville in Polk County.  Council/Manager government, 34 full time employees, $3.7M budget.  Manager directs & supervises all departments of town through department heads.  Manager serves as finance director.  Qualifications:  Prefer minimum 4-year BA/BS degree.  Must possess strong financial skills & grant writing experience.  Minimum 5 yrs. experience in local government administration desired.  Salary & benefits package commensurate with qualifications & experience.  Send cover letter, resume, 3 references, salary requirements & salary history to:  Tryon Town Clerk, 301 N. Utility Worker - One full-time position in the Street Department.  The primary functions including street maintenance, water & sewer, parks & sanitation.  

Recreation Worker - One full-time position with Harmon Field.  The primary functions include facility preparation for special events, grass maintenance, pesticide and fertilizer applications, aeration and leaf removal, trash pickup and cleaning activities.  Prefer education in turfgrass management and NC Pesticide Applicator License.     Job applications may be obtained at Tryon Town Hall, 301 N.
