PROPOSED 90 DAY LAKE LANIER MORATORIUM ORDINANCE
The Tryon Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Tryon Town Hall, 301 N. Trade Street, Tryon, NC, to receive public comment on a proposed ordinance establishing a 90 day moratorium on new construction, expansion, or reconstruction of structures on or over the Lake Lanier lakebed.
The purpose of the proposed 90 day moratorium is to allow the Town time to evaluate regulatory options, enforcement responsibilities, and potential intergovernmental arrangements related to construction activities on Lake Lanier.
